What type of counselling are you looking for?

  • I work with all types of issues, from depression and anxiety to complex trauma. If you would like to learn about these issues, click here. The work we do together is collaborative and ensures that you feel empowered in the healing process. I work in a pluralistic way, which means that we use types of therapy that suit your needs best, based on mutual agreement between us. To find out more, get in touch or head to our blog page.

  • No one operates in isolation from the people who care about them. At times, in relationships and in families, we can get trapped in patterns which create conflict and disconnection. Working with whānau together can provide significantly better results in counselling. If you and a loved one need support, I can help you to find a pathway forward. Learn about the benefits of relationship counselling here.

  • Counselling work with children is based in play and creativity. For kids, play is the way they express their emotions. Unlike most adults, their play and behaviour is their language. In my work with kids it’s important for me to understand what is happening for them at home, school and in their relationships with others. We build a map together to understand what has happened and how they would like to move forward into the future. Read more about counselling for children.

Fees and booking

My session fees are $120 for both youth and adults. My clients can access free or low-cost counselling sessions through the following services:

  • Gumboot Friday - Two free counselling sessions in Christchurch online/phone for youth aged 5-24. In special circumstances more sessions can be funded, however, all other funding options must be exhausted. Please talk to me about this, as no young person should have to suffer alone. We will always search for options to make funding work long-term for those who need it.

  • Clearhead - Three free counselling sessions funded through the business you work for, if they have an existing EAP scheme. Please talk to your employer about whether they offer this service. Additional free sessions can be requested if needed.

  • MSD - A disability allowance can be granted for those meeting certain income thresholds. This can provide free counselling sessions for children, youth and adults. Initial funding is for 10 sessions, another 10 sessions can be accessed following this if needed.

  • ACC - Funded counselling for sexual abuse survivors.

Sessions for individuals last 50 minutes unless otherwise arranged and couples and whānau sessions are between 70-90 minutes long.

As of March 2024, I have no availability for new clients. I run a waitlist, which you’re welcome to contact me about.
